Ramadan bread is very soft, leavened bread shaped by hand. This bread with Labne and olives or maybe zaatar is great for Suhoor.

Ramadan! What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim year, we fast during daylight hours(from sunrise to sunset).
This bread is often eaten during Ramadan, but of course if you learn how to make it at home you can still eat it during the rest of the year as well.
First, I did brioche ingredients and shape it as flat bread and sprinkled sesame and black seeds, and reduce the quantity of sugar and a bit less butter. It looked amazing, fluffy and super soft, and the taste is incredible. BUT the real Ramadan Bread- Machateh taste different. although it's almost the same ingredients, but the oil play a big difference here.

This Ramadan Bread- Machateh is very delicious and soft. My favorite way to eat it by dipping it in oil and Zaatar. You can also dip with baba ghanoush (Eggplant Dip) - Hummus- Red pepper vegetable spread (Muhammara) - Labne-.Cheesy Artichoke dip- or maybe you turn it into Garlic Cheesy Bread. Yummy!

Like any other dough, you could make it by using dough machine or by hand . I used food processor to make this bread . I waited until it doubled in size ,and then shaped it. The video down below will show you exactly how I shaped it and cut it.
After kneading and shaping comes the resting process, and I say REST REST REST, to get the softer bread ever. Then comes baking, you want to bake it on preheated oven 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 mins.

Ramadan Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups all purpose flour or bread flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 egg for the dough + 1 egg for coating
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil + 1 tbsp oil for brushing
- sesame seeds
- black seeds
Instruction
- In a large bowl, or food processor. Combine flour, sugar, yeast. Then add egg, milk and oil, turn food processor to the dough setting and let it go. After 3 mins check on your dough and make sure the dough is not too wet or too dry(if it's too dry add milk, if it's wet add flour 1 tbsp at a time) If you're using hand to make the dough, knead for about 3-4 minutes until the dough is formed, then turn the dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, for another 3-4 mins.
- Transfer the dough to a bowl and cover it using plastic wrap. Let it rest and rise until doubled in size.
- Cut 1/3 of the dough. Divide them into half (Try to make them as even as possible) and roll the 2 halves into long dough. After rolling, secure base, and start braiding.
- Roll the rest of the dough about 3 cm, then start decorating your bread. I used the lemon juicer top to shape the circle in the middle of the bread, the crisscrossed diagonal lines (see video above).
- Using a pastry brush, coat the top of the bread with egg and 1 tbsp oil mixed together, sprinkle sesame seeds and black seeds. cover the bread and let it rest for another 20 mins.
- Bake the bread for 20-25 mins at 350 degrees F, until golden brown.
