Beef Shawarma Recipe Crockpot
Learn how to make Beef Shawarma right in your crockpot. Restaurant style beef shawarma.
There is affordable shawarma vertical broiler you can buy, but today I decided to make it in crockpot. why?.. Crockpot helps tenderize the meat as well as it brings out the flavor in food. I love crockpot not because it allows one-step preparation, but also it can cook our food slowly, while we are away.
Let's start by preparing the homemade shawarma seasoning-All spices, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Next come the marinade. we'll use the homemade shawarma seasoning we made combined with vinegar and olive oil. Now, we are gonna cut the meat into slices as if we're making steak and add the spices and we're just gonna let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.
Make it perfect and plan it ahead. Believe me it's worth it.
We all know marinating gives the meat more flavor, so it affects the taste and the tenderness of meat.
Here, I used skewers to hold the meat vertically, by stacking up the meat.
I started off by adding the onion slices and tomatoes first, and then I placed the meat over. I cut the end of the skewers so I can cover the crockpot easily.
Once the meat is done, just shred it and serve it in pita pockets, topped with onions, tomatoes, pickles and tarator sauce. Or, you can make Beef Shawarma Bowl (Rice on the bottom topped with onions, tomatoes, pickles and tarator sauce)
