Ashta means cream, fragrant with both orange blossom and rose water. It's filling of many of Lebanese desserts such as Atayif, knefeh, mafrokeh, znod set and mad b ashta.
Recipes for Ashta varies, some use white bread to make it thick, some use semolina or corn starch and some use only milk and water without boiling the milk. Also, it can be made of whipping cream or half and half.
