Rose Petal Jam (Zaher Laymon)

















 Rose Petal Jam(Zahr laymon-زهر الليمون)is a Lebanese dessert topper. It gives a pop of color and unique look, and it tastes so good. If you can't find it like me just  make it yourself. 
























 water-sugar-rosewater-orange blossom water













 Add the 3 cups of grated  fresh ***carrots and the 1/2 tsp


red food coloring
















They're gonna look like this after stirring. keep them boiling on




low heat for about 20 mins or when they are well done.













Now add the lemon and boil it for another 5 mins on low


heat






Rose Petal Jam (Zaher Laymoon) Recipe





      Cook time: about 30 minutes       


                                                                                                                                                                                       Ingredients:



  • 2 cups sugar



  • 1/2 orange blossom water



  • 1/2 cup rose water



  • 1/2 cup water



  • 3 cups grated fresh carrots



  • 1/2 tsp RED food coloring



  • 1 tbsp. of lemon















Direction:



  1. Add the sugar, water, orange blossom water, and rose water to a saucepan. Cook over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.




  2. Add the grated fresh carrots with the red food coloring to the water-sugar mixture. Stir well until the mixture boils.



  3. Simmer  20 minutes or until the carrots are as done as you like them.



  4. Add the freshly lemon juice, mix well and boil for additional 10 minutes. you will notice the mixture is getting thick. 



  5. Turn off the heat and drain the syrup.



  6. Transfer the carrots to sterile jar, and the syrup to another sterile jar and refrigerate them.(When you want to use them add the quantity you need from the carrots ad syrup to give it a shiny and fresh look ).
