Sfouf or Yellow Cake is very familiar in Lebanon, and the ingredients could be available in every house . It is very easy to make and I doesn't need a lot of time prepare, it's even easier than making a cake.
Everybody like this cake especially the kids, it's super moist and the taste is amazing.
Sfouf or Yellow cake consider as nutritious cake because it made of turmeric, and turmeric has a lot of benefits. It may slow or prevent blood clots, reduce depression symptoms, fights inflammation, boost skin health and a lot more. Also, this recipe consist of Tahini which is very good for you as well, it's rich in minerals such as phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium and iron, it's high in Vitamin E and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, and B15, it prevents anemia and it helps to maintain healthy skin and muscle tone, it has 20% of protein and it's easy for your body to digest.
As for the sugar you always you can decrease the quantity. Also you can substitute the butter into coconut oil, or vegetable oil.
Yellow cake is so tricky to make, but I create this recipe to make it easy for everybody. The result is guarantee .
Decorate the yellow cake either with pistachio,pine nut, or almonds, or sesame seeds, whatever available.

Yellow cake recipe-eggless cake-تحضير الصفوف
The most moist cake I've ever tried. Its super tasty and delicious .
Ingredients
- 2 cup fine semolina
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 to 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 tbsp. baking powder
- 1 tbsp. turmeric
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp tahini
- Pistachios (almonds ,pine nuts,or sesame seeds)
- 2 tbsp. to 1/4 cup of syrup
Direction
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, and grease a 9x9” baking pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, add sugar and milk and microwave them,until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Add in melted butter and tahini, mix well.Then add all purpose flour, fine semolina, baking soda, baking powder, turmeric and mix until well combined and bright yellow.
- cover the bowl using plastic wrap and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Sprinkle with pistachios, almonds ,pine nuts or sesame seeds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Brush the cake with the syrup, it will shine the cake and make it moisture even more.
- Wait the cake to cool down and cut it into small pieces.
